William (Bill) Gilleran, 71, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2025, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Somerville, the same hospital that he was born in. He was the son of the late John and Jean (Crawford) Gilleran. A longtime resident of Bound Brook, he graduated from Bound Brook High School in 1972. Bill went on to earn his associate’s degree from Raritan Valley Community College and later took classes at Rutgers University. He worked for 30 years as a communications technician with Verizon in Bridgewater. Bill was an avid deep-sea fisherman, a devoted Giants and Yankees fan, and someone who cherished spending time with his family. Some of his happiest moments were sharing coffee and watching movies with his son, Daniel.
Bill is survived by his wife of 43 years, Judy; their children John, Daniel, and Kait (Jesse Agins, spouse); his sisters, Carol (Tom) Daubner, Martha Gilleran (Roy Scheckermann), and Roberta (Brad) Higginbottom.
Gathering with the family will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home, 225 Mountain Avenue, Bound Brook, NJ 08805. Gathering will be 9:30 to 10:00 AM, Thursday, December 4, 2025, with a prayer service beginning at 10:00 AM. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Bound Brook Cemetery, in the town he loved.
