With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of the immeasurable Timothy Patrick Maney - a man who walked through 68 years of life with equal parts kindness and greatness.

Born in North Chicago, Illinois to Frederick and Bettina Maney, Timothy was the epitome of an all-American athlete. There was no limitation to what his mind and body could do, from playing football and baseball to running marathons and achieving his black belt in Shito-ryu karate.

But Timothy's tenacity transcended athleticism. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Public Administration at Albany State, a Master's degree in Public Administration at NYU, and an MBA in Finance at Seton Hall University. His robust education and natural intelligence led him to serve as the CIO of L-3 Technologies, an Aerospace and Defense company that provides high-tech solutions to potential threats against the US Government and its allies.

In addition to his impressive accomplishments, Timothy was a loving father, husband, confidant, and friend to all. He enjoyed watching new movies with his family, rooting for the Jets and Mets, dancing and singing to 80s rock (which he coined as "football music"), cooking his signature chili and chicken dishes, reading his Bible every morning, learning more about politics and history, and imparting words of wisdom like: "Keep it simple," "Once you can do something once, you can always do it again," and "Be married to your career, not your job."

Timothy was caring, honest, generous, brave, compassionate, a great judge of character, and always supportive of his wife and daughter. He was surrounded by loved ones across his final days and moments - a true testament to the joy he brought everyone during his time on earth.

Timothy is remembered and survived by his wife of 35 years, Cynthia, his daughter Melissa, and his cat, Serenity. His sister, Patricia Hart and his brother, Peter "Dusty" Maney reside on Long Island, New York.

There will be a Mass at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 23rd to cherish and celebrate Timothy's life. It will take place at St. Joseph's Catholic Church at I11 E High St, Bound Brook, NJ 08805.

In lieu of flowers, Timothy's family asks that donations be made to The OPMD Association. For those unfamiliar, OPMD is a rare form of muscular dystrophy that Timothy fought relentlessly until the very end. With your help, we can provide OPMD researchers the resources they need to create a cure and save more wonderful people like Timothy.
