Thomas Bones Marold

Thomas Bones Marold, 77, passed away, Monday, November 2, 2026. Born and raised in Franklin Township, Bones made Bound Brook his home for the past 50 years. Over those five decades, he became a familiar face and a well-known presence throughout the community. Bones had a lifelong passion for sports, especially when it came to coaching. He was a longtime Pop Warner football coach, where he shared his love of the game and made a lasting impression on the young athletes he coached. Whether cheering on the Yankees, Jets, or Giants, or taking in a local sporting event, Bones was always happiest when there was a game to watch. When he wasn't at a sporting event, chances were you could find Bones at the gym, wandering the aisles of ShopRite, or making his regular rounds at Costco. He was a man of routine, and if you knew Bones, you knew exactly where to look for him. Those who knew him will remember his unmistakable sense of humor, his quick wit, and his good-natured grumpy attitude. He was never one to shy away from sharing his opinion, and his personality made him a character all his own. He also enjoyed watching The Three Stooges, no doubt appreciating their brand of humor as much as he enjoyed bringing laughter to those around him. Bones was more than just a familiar face around town. He was part of the fabric of the community, someone people recognized, stopped to talk with, and came to know over the years. His presence, personality, and humor will be missed by the many people whose lives he touched.

Bones was predeceased by his beloved wife, Marcia in 2017. He is survived by his children Jessica Wayne; Charles Marold and Douglas Marold; his grandchildren Steven, Nathan, Ella, Jadyn, Delaney, Mikayla, and Grayson.

Gathering with the family will be 4:00 – 8:00 PM, Friday, November 6, 2026, at Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home, 225 Mountain Avenue, Bound Brook, with a brief prayer service at 5:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM, Saturday at St. Mary of Czestochowa Church, Bound Brook. Burial at Bound Brook Cemetery will follow.
