Shelby Salvatore

Shelby Salvatore, 92, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2026, at Care One Somerset Valley.

Shelby was born on December 28, 1933, in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Earl and Mercedes Porter.

She was raised in South Bound Brook and graduated from Bound Brook High School. Shelby was a proud communicant of St. Joseph Church in Bound Brook, where her faith was central to her identity. She generously devoted her time as a volunteer in numerous local organizations, including the Red Hat Society and the Bound Brook Literary Club.

Her adventurous spirit took her across the globe, with memorable cruises and visits to destinations such as Australia and Italy. She also enjoyed spending time at the family shore house in Manasquan, where countless treasured moments were shared with loved ones.

Above all else, Shelby’s joy came from her beloved family. She is survived by her son Daniel Salvatore and his wife Sandra; daughter Dawn Fallet and her husband Mark; son David Salvatore; five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Shelby was predeceased by her beloved husband, Daniel Salvatore, with whom she shared a lifetime of partnership and love.

Gathering with friends and family will be from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home, 225 Mountain Avenue, Bound Brook.

A memorial mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at St. Joseph Church, 111 E High St, Bound Brook. Interment to immediately follow at Bound Brook Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Shelby's honor to St. Jude Children's Hospital.

All arrangements are under the care and supervision of Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home.

She will be missed.
