Mary L. Krehely Blane, 96, of South Bound Brook, New Jersey, passed away at her home on March 20, 2026.
Mary was born on February 8, 1930, in Phillipsburg, New Jersey, to the late James and Ella (nee Dalrymple) Goble. She completed her elementary education in South Bound Brook, and she graduated from Bound Brook High School in 1948. Mary built a successful and steady career as an executive secretary for various companies and organizations. She retired from Gulf State Paper Corporation.
While raising her three daughters with her husband, Frederick Krehely, she was involved in many town activities. She was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary for the SBB First Aid Squad. She was also a scout leader, and a very active member of the PTA.
Mary is survived by her three daughters and their spouses, Susan and David Fiorentino; Janet Krehely and John Primeau; Debra and Richard Jackle; and her grandchildren Michael, Nicholas and his wife Michelle, Kelly, Jamie, Lindsay, Andrew, Scott, and her great grandson Nolan. She is also lovingly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Frederick Krehely; her second husband James Blane; and her cherished siblings Walter Petersen, Ruth Dilts, and James Goble.
Mary’s heart was always closest to her family. She enjoyed every moment spent with loved ones. Telephone calls , family dinners, e-mails, holiday celebrations, important milestones were all treasured. Her home was a welcoming place, and every family member and friend was valued. A recent visitor said that coming into Mary’s home was like walking into a hug.
Throughout the years, Mary’s other interests included gardening, where her yard full of flowers was often admired by passersby. She also loved reading, going to the casino, attending the U.S. Open, playing tennis, solving Wordle, and keeping the candy dish filled.
