Joseph P. Pellicane Jr., 94, of Bound Brook passed away peacefully on July 20, 2025.
Born in New Brunswick, Joseph grew up in a loving home before moving to Bound Brook in the 1950s.
Joseph proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954 during the Korean War, an experience that shaped his character and instilled in him a profound sense of duty and service. Upon returning home from the war, he dedicated his professional life to the field of chemistry. He began working at Johns Manville and later spent 39 years as a chemist at RCA Laboratories in Princeton, retiring in 2000.
Joseph was a man of education, having graduated from St. Peter's High School in New Brunswick before earning his bachelor's degree in chemistry from Rutgers University. His passion for learning and professional advancements was matched only by his devotion to his community and faith. For many years he was the head of the parish council, and counted the collections every Sunday. As a lifelong member of the Elks, Joseph embraced the values of fellowship and service, always willing to lend a helping hand to others.
Beyond his professional commitments, Joseph found joy in the simple pleasures of life, a fine scotch, good friends and cherished the time he spent at his house in Manasquan on the screened porch. Vacationing at his timeshare in Cancun brought him much joy, allowing him to create lasting memories with family and friends.
Joseph is survived by his loving sons, Robert (Deborah), David (Jean), and Thomas (Linda); daughter-in-law Karen; six grandchildren, Vincent (Sarah), Matthew (Jenny), Nicholas, Kaitlyn, Michael, and Ashley Cesario (Greg); great-grandson Landon; and many extended relatives and friends.
He is predeceased by his beloved son, Joseph Pellicane III and his wife, Catherine.
