Joseph Caccavelli

Joseph Caccavelli, 77, passed away on January 20, 2026, at Hunterdon Medical Center.

Born to the late John and Victoria (DeMagistris) Caccavelli, he and his family moved from Spinete, Italy to the Bronx in 1955. They eventually settled in Bound Brook, New Jersey where Joseph graduated from Bound Brook High School in 1966. He went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Marshall University in West Virginia. His early career began at Prudential, after which he opened Caccavelli Construction company in 1975 alongside his two brothers. This venture would later evolve and become known as Millennium Construction.

Family was at the heart of Joseph's life. He was known for organizing large family reunions that brought together relatives from near and far, including a memorable gathering in Italy in 1995 and several in New Jersey. His love for travel, especially throughout Europe and his beloved Italy was a significant focal point in his life. Joseph also had a passion for reading, particularly enjoying historical non-fiction and biographies.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Carolyn Caccavelli; his two sons, Michael (Lisa) and Marc (Melissa) Caccavelli; his grandchildren, Ava, Sophia, Gabby, Jarrod, and Gianni; his sisters, Phyllis and Maria (Vincent) Caccavelli; his brother-in-law, Barry (Kathy) Szymanski; niece and nephews Sandy Szymanski, Karl Szymanski, and Anthony Caccavelli; and great-niece and great-nephew, Myah and Zayne Sancho.

Joseph was predeceased by his brothers, Peter, John, and Ozzie Caccavelli.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home, 225 Mountain Avenue, Bound Brook, NJ.

A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at St. Frances of Cabrini R. C. Church, 208 Bound Brook Road, Piscataway, NJ. Family and friends are welcome to gather at the funeral home beginning at 9:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
