John W. Buzby, Jr. passed peacefully from this earthly life on February 9, 2026. He was born on June 21, 1941, to John W. Buzby, Sr. and Mildred Hoagland Buzby.
John spent most of his life in Bound Brook, New Jersey, and was a proud graduate of Bound Brook High School, Class of 1959. He continued his education at Paul Smith’s College and Rochester MN Community College.
Flying was one of John’s greatest passions. Over the years, he held many roles, each reflecting his adventurous spirit and strong work ethic. He served as a flight instructor for Somerset Air Service and Flying Cloud in Shakopee, Minnesota. He also owned and operated several trucks, working as an over-the-road driver for Peerless Transportation and ABC Sports, and hauling materials for HK Buzby & Sons.
A true original, John was a cowboy at heart. He loved horses, cattle drives, and photography, and he lived life with independence, curiosity, and character.
John is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Natalie Hanson Buzby; his daughter, Carolyn Johnson (Chris); his son, J. Matthew (Dawn); and his six cherished grandchildren, Zachary and Tristan Johnson, and Bryce, Alexis, Ava, and Reid Buzby. He is also survived by his brothers, Charles (Lori), Thomas (Pat), and Robert (Ceila); his sister-in-law, Adah Levin (Michael); and many loving nieces and nephews.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him. Cremation is private. A gathering with friends and family will take place at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home, Bound Brook.
