James Esposito

James Esposito, 106, passed away on July 20, 2026, after a remarkable life spanning more than a century. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, dedication, and countless memories cherished by his family and friends who were blessed to know him.

Born to the late James Vincent and Margaret (Geraldo) Esposito, James was raised in Raritan, New Jersey, and was a proud graduate of Somerville High School. He carried with him throughout his life the values of hard work and perseverance.

James proudly served his country during World War II as a member of the United States Army Air Corps, serving as an aircraft gunner. He answered the call of duty during a defining moment in history, and his courage, dedication, and sacrifice remained a source of great pride throughout his long and meaningful life.

Following his military service, James built a successful career as a draftsman with American Cyanamid in Bridgewater, where he worked until his retirement.

James’ greatest passion was golf. He relished his time on the golf course, where he found joy, friendship, and countless memories. His love for the game remained with him throughout his life, and he continued to enjoy golfing well into his 100s, a testament to his determination, independence, and love of life.

James was predeceased by his first wife, Elizabeth Schuler; his son, James C. Esposito; and his grandson, William Levinson.

He is survived by his son, Charles Esposito; his daughter, Kathy Levinson (Robert); his daughter-in-law, Janet Esposito; his grandchildren, James A. Esposito (Marcela), Keith Esposito (Meredith), Kelly Timov (Orce), and Jeffrey Levinson (Maria); and eight beloved great-grandchildren.

James will be remembered as a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, proud veteran, and a man whose strength, and resilience inspired all who knew him. His extraordinary 106 years were filled with accomplishments, cherished moments, and a legacy that will continue through the family he leaves behind.

A memorial service will be held on September 12, 2026 from 2-5pm at Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home. A private interment will follow.
