Irene Reina

Irene Reina, 91, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2025. Born in Plainfield, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Irene (Olsen) LaCosta. She was a proud graduate of North Plainfield High School.

Before marrying, Irene worked for Prudential and later pursued her artistic passions by attending the duCret School of Art. She found great joy in painting and drawing, particularly of flowers and palm trees. Irene cherished time spent at the Jersey Shore and in Florida, places that inspired much of her artwork.

A devoted wife and partner, Irene co-owned and operated A&I Cleaning with her husband, Albert. She was a member of the St. Joseph Bowling League and an avid fan of tennis, a fierce ping pong, uno and card player. Irene was happiest surrounded by family at gatherings filled with love and laughter.

Irene was predeceased by her parents, and her beloved brother, George LaCosta, Sr. She is survived by her loving husband, Albert; her son Thomas, his wife Lisa; her daughter Linda Schulte and her husband Daniel; her grandchildren Stephanie, Michelle, and Stacey.

Gathering with the family will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home, Bound Brook. Burial will be private.
