Gloria Kirkwood

Gloria DePaolo Kirkwood, 85, passed away at Overlook Hospital in Summit, on Sunday, February 14, 2016. She was born in Bound Brook, NJ on July 9, 1930, to Ralph DePaolo and Mamie (Gerardo) DePaolo and graduated from Bound Brook High School in 1948. Gloria was a lifelong resident of Bound Brook before moving to Westfield in 2013 to live with her daughter. She was a faithful communicant of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bound Brook and a Eucharistic Minister. Her family takes comfort knowing that Gloria was finally reunited in heaven on Valentine’s Day with her husband of 44 years, John Kirkwood, who passed away February 1994. Gloria was also predeceased by her siblings, Mary, Louis, Grace, and Nancy. She is survived by her daughters, Lynn Ackermann and Tina Willens, her sons-in-law, Thomas Ackermann and Kevin Willens, and her four grandchildren, Casey Ackermann and Jackie, Nikki, and Kirk Willens. In keeping with Gloria's wishes, a private service for the family was held last week.
