On October 27, 2026,, Eftihia Kostas was reunited with her parents, siblings, and loved ones in heaven.
Born in Evia, Greece on 10/02/1949 to her parents Leonidas and Sofia Viziris. Eftihia was the youngest of 8 siblings and often shared how much she enjoyed her childhood on the beach in her hometown of Platana.
Lovingly known as Effie, Effie fearlessly left her home country of Greece to begin a new life in the United States to start a family.
Ask anyone, and they will tell you how lovingly sharp, witty, caring and driven she was to successfully provide for her family and loved ones.
For most of her life you could find Effie at a diner greeting patrons and escorting them to their tables. Out of many talents, Greek dancing was one of her favorite activities to enjoy at a wedding, church events, and celebrations. Her infectious laughter would brighten a room and will be remembered fondly.
Effie is survived by her three daughters Virginia Kostas, Sofia Wyrtzen and her husband Andrew Wyrtzen, and Soteria Kostas, her grandchildren Nicolette Robinson and her husband Marcus Robinson, Melina Towlen, Ava Wyrtzen, Emma Wyrtzen, and Olivia Wyrtzen, her great grandchildren MJ Robinson and Roman Robinson.
The family invites you to join them in sharing joyous memories together during the viewing being held from 2:00 P. M. to 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 1, 2026, at Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home, 225 Mountain Avenue, Bound Brook.
A funeral mass will begin at 12:00 P.M. on Monday, November 2, 2026, at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 41-47 Wisteria Street, Perth Amboy. Burial to follow at Alpine Cemetery in Perth Amboy.
The family prefers donations to be made in her name to a cancer foundation of your choosing.
Effie was a loving mother grandmother, and great grandmother who lived a life of compassion and love for all those around her and we celebrate her life with us and her reunion with her family in heaven.
