Barbara E. Mendel

Barbara Mendel, 85, died peacefully on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.

Born and raised in Bound Brook, Barbara was the daughter of the late Joseph and Betty Kofity Mendel and remained a lifelong resident of the community she loved. She was a graduate of Bound Brook High School and was employed for many years in the Accounting Department at Union Carbide, where she was known for her dedication and strong work ethic.

Barbara was a faithful and devoted communicant of St. Mary of Czestochowa Church in Bound Brook. Her deep faith, quiet kindness, and steadfast devotion to her family, friends, and parish community were hallmarks of her life.

She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Betty Kofity Mendel; her brother, Joseph Mendel; and cousins John Michael Fulop and Dolores Petrone.

She is survived by her cousins, Janice Mercier, Teddy and Marianne Gajewski, Margaret Petrone, and Betsy and E.J. Weischadle; cousin-in-law Lynn Fulop Langston; and many extended relatives and friends.

Gathering with family and friends will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home, 225 Mountain Avenue, Bound Brook, NJ.

A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at St. Mary of Czestochowa Church, 201 Vosseller Avenue, Bound Brook, NJ.

Interment to immediately follow at Bound Brook Cemetery.
