Alfred A. Orlando, 95, lifelong resident of Bound Brook, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on April 26, 2026, at RWJ Somerset.
Born to the late Alfred A. Orlando Sr. and Mary (Vobis) Orlando, Alfred graduated from Bound Brook High School in 1949. Shortly thereafter, he answered his nation’s call to service, joining the United States Navy and serving during the Korean War from January 1951 through December 1954. He later worked as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service, until his well-deserved retirement in 1997.
A fervent sports enthusiast, Alfred followed the New York Giants and New York Yankees with unwavering dedication. His ultimate passion was bass fishing, a pastime that brought him great joy and tranquility. Above everything, he cherished spending quality time with his family. He was a funny, quiet, and proud man, and his meaningful legacy of loyalty to family and public service will live on in those he loved.
Alfred was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 47 years, Mary “Marie” Orlando, who passed away in 2006.
He is survived by his children Alan J. Orlando of Clifton, NJ, Susan Orlando of Ocala, FL, and Donna Orlando of Easton, PA; cherished grandchildren Randy Orlando (Jessica), Andrew Orlando (Deanna), and Tara Thorn (Jonathan); and great-grandchildren Gianna, Ava, Briella, Chase, Sofia, Zachary, and Olivia.
